CFTVA - Registration Information
Enrollment Policy
Classes offered by Virginia CFT are open to all employees of the financial services industry. There are no membership dues. All other interested individuals from the general population may enroll on a space-available basis.
Registration Process
Select your course(s) from the appropriate schedule of classes. Make note of any registration deadlines.
Complete an CFT Registration Form.
E-mail your registration form to the Virginia CFT Office. We will contact your CFT Representative for
billing approval.
Canceling Your Registration
All cancellations must be in writing to Virginia CFT Office. You will be assessed a withdrawal fee of $50.00 if you cancel your registration after it has been processed by CFT or if you withdraw from class prior to the second class meeting. After the second class meeting, you will be charged full tuition. It is the student's responsibility to provide the CFT office with written notification. 15-week online courses -
Withdrawal Policies - Online students must register at least 10 days prior to the start date. Withdrawals must be no later that 10 days prior to start date for full tuition refund, minus a $110.00 withdrawal fee, plus any incurred textbook cost. There are no refunds after the second week of class
Registration Confirmation
Although Virginia CFT does not send confirmations, you can call the CFT Office to verify your registration. We will notify you only if a class is filled or canceled. If you attend the first class meeting and your name is not on the instructor's roster, simply ask that your name and social security number be added. Follow up with a phone call to the CFT Office so that we can ensure that your registration has been received and properly processed.
Textbook Distribution
CFT textbooks are distributed at the first class meeting unless otherwise noted. CFT textbook prices are listed on each region's schedule of classes.
Tuition
Tuition for a three credit class (15 weeks in length) is $245.00, two credit classes (10 weeks long) cost $205.00, and one credit classes (5 weeks) are $175.00. Most financial institutions will pay for their employees' tuition; however, reimbursement is expected if the class is not successfully completed. Contact your CFT Representative for your individual institution's policy.
Grade Report Distribution
Virginia CFT has recently purchased a new recordkeeping program which will enable us to mail final grade reports to students' home addresses. Additionally, if your institution is paying your tuition, we will report your final grade to your employer.
